Weekly Update 11/9/18

Let Us Help You:
As a reminder to all supervisors, contact CCSO immediately anytime you receive a notice to appear at an investigative interview, receive a direct adverse action, or receive any other action that warrants attorney representation.  The more notice we can provide our attorneys, the better it is for their operational needs. It also assists CCSO’s ability to schedule your needs in an efficient manner.

State Board Quarterly Meeting:
Friday, November 2, 2018, the CCSO State Board held our quarterly meeting. The meeting was very productive with input from all members. The board discussed expenses, the annual conference, upgrades to the office, and future charitable donations and activities. Sam Robinson was appointed as Secretary, filling the vacancy left by Ron Allen. Sam has been the Chapter President of San Quentin for many years and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, including the master of ceremonies at our annual conference and workshop.  Sam will be a great asset to the State Board and we are excited to have him join us.  The State Board is enthusiastic about the upcoming new year and achieving our many goals and visions for the organization.

Upcoming Scheduled Facility Visit:
CCSO representatives will be at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Corcoran on November 14, 2018 to observe the Contraband Interdiction Program (CIP) Pilot Program at each entry point to the secured perimeter. The purpose of the CIP is to utilize a complex approach to stop the introduction of contraband and drugs into the institution.  The screening method includes the use of full body scanners, baggage/parcel x-ray scanners and 6 canine teams, which will be conducted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The enhanced screening will include all employees, visitors, contract staff, attorneys, and volunteers.  This program will be in affect up to 24 months.
