Premium Legal Representation
As a member of CCSO, you will receive premium legal representation (at no additional cost to you) through attorneys and or labor representation specialists. Whatever the labor issue is, your membership with CCSO gets you immediate access to an attorney who is well qualified to advise you on your rights and represent you at hearings.

  • Office of Internal Affairs – we provide legal representation for you at the Internal Affairs Investigatory Interview at both local and state levels
  • Equal Employment Opportunity – we provide legal representation for EEO complaints
  • Skelly Hearings – we provide legal representation for Skelly Hearing
  • SPB – we provide legal representation for State Personnel Board hearings
    Lybarger Warning – we provide legal representation for Lybarger Warnings

Legislative Advocacy
CCSO maintains an active legislative advocacy program to fight for the rights of our members. CCSO is the only statewide organization that is 100% focused on promoting the issues of Correctional Supervisors in the legislature.

Political Action Committee (PAC)
Through your contribution, CCSO PAC sends a message to policy-makers that California Correctional Supervisors are united and provides an opportunity to positively impact the election of candidates who recognize and support issues we care about.

CCSO Chapters
CCSO maintains 41 chapters, 34 at prisons with the remaining belonging to the Training Academy at Galt, N.A. Chaderjian Youth Correctional Facility,O.H. Close Youth Correctional Facility, Southern Youth Reception Center & Clinic, Salinas Valley Psychiatric Program, Camps, and CCSO’s retired members’ chapter. Each chapter elects a president and holds regular meetings to discuss local and statewide issues.

Annual Meeting and Legislative Day
Each year CCSO hosts an annual meeting. In addition, we coordinate an annual legislative day to meet with legislators and staff to educate, lobby and advocate about issues that are important to our members.

Insurance Benefits
As a CCSO member you and your family have an Enhanced Vision Service Plan that provides a 1 st and 2 nd vision benefit annually. CCSO provides all members with access to group insurance benefits at discounted prices, including: Long term care plan, piggyback dental, personal accident, short term disability, PPO supplement, personal cancer indemnity plan, and life insurance. Information is also available on living trusts & estate planning solutions. In addition, CCSO provides each active and retired member with death benefits.

Scholarships
The CCSO Scholarship Fund was established to recognize outstanding high school student who have a solid GPA, active in the community and who have a determination and drive for excellence. The CCSO scholarship program is open to the immediate families of CCSO members.

WHO CAN JOIN
Membership in CCSO is only open to California Correctional supervisors and managers. Why? This way there is never a conflict of interest in the representation of our membership in any workplace legal action. Our members will always come first.
